Piece o cake matey!
I'd probably convert to a DV avi
stream, since you be encountering
the dreaded 'disc flip', you'll
want something that's easy to edit
your pause together.
Then TMPGENC your DVD/mpeg file, Author in TMPGENC Author, then burn in Nero. You're home free. -
thx for fast reply.....
but slow down, i cant follow..
what do I need of hardware and software ?........
and what do I do step by step. ?
(this is so cool, I got a whole lot of good classic movies, havent seen them in 7-9 years )g_i_l_s_t_e_r

What you need to do is hook up your player to the computer using some type of capture card or another device so that you have the footage on your hard drive. As vcdforme said, capturing to AVI is a good idea if you need to edit, and you will most likely want to edit out the part where the LD is flipped so when you watch it on your DVD there is no gap.
Then you need to use some type of encoder (like TMPGEnc) to encode the avi into an MPG which is DVD compatible. This part can be tricky. There are lots of different options and some of them are crucial to achieving good quality video.
Sound is another issue. Many people are convinced that you need to do 66 things and run it though 12 programs to get it right, but TMPGEnc can encode that as well if you wish. The biggest problems I had with sound starting out are synch issues. Hopefully this will not plague you because it can be quite maddening.
After this is done you will need to author the MPG to the DVD using some sort of program like TMPGEnc DVD Author. This program is great and allows you to make simple menus to navigate your movie. Another good program is DVD Lab, but it's not as easy to use.
This description is a bit simplistic, but will give you the general idea. I urge you to read the guides, and re-read them and keep reading while doing some experiments creating simple DVDs and burning them to RW discs for testing before jumping right in and tackling the job of transfering an entire collection of LDs.
If you have problems the guides can't answer, there are plenty of people here that can probably help. Have fun! -
Okay,
thx Matt D
the converting from AVI to Mpeg I got under control, this part I know
So all I need is a capture card !!!
and any software that can capture can do the trick,
Well i'm off then, gotta lot of work waiting then......!g_i_l_s_t_e_r

So, forget "things" like DC10+ or other Pinnacle hardware,
i still regret the day i bought a DC10+Thanks,
