  1. I hope somebody is able to help me with the problem I'm facing:
-I converted my sub using srt2sup
-I used IfoEdit and I multiplexed/authored the DVD.
Everything is looking fine on a pc, but when I play it on a standalone DVD player, the sub is moving a little up and down, so hard to read. I tested it on two dvd-players with the same result
The movie itself is steady. It happens while the sub is displayed, even when I press pause when the sub is on screen, it shakes, and the video is just paused and calm.
The movie is Pal (25fps) so IfoEdit should be able to handle the file..

Please help, what should I do?

Actually, I experience the same (using exactly your method). I might add that it's just the lower (or only, if there is just one) sub line that flickers (I'd say that it jumps one scan line up and down). I've noticed it, and it looks a little odd, but I thought "what the heck..." But now that you raised the question, I'm interested in finding the cause/solution too!

    Hi
I am using the same method but haven't experienced this problem (yet..)
How du you place the subs? I normally, under global settings in srt2sup:
Uncheck "Use default target" and set Vetical alignment to "bottom", horizontal alignment to " left" and justify to "left".
After that i make these settings:
    X1(left)=100
    Y1(top)=470
    Outline=1
    And the fontsize to 18.
The rest is left at default.
    Best regards.

I'll try those settings, to see if it makes a difference on my system. I'm about to author a new movie tonite, so I'll report back on this issue tomorrow.

Making selectable subtitles is more authoring than any editing so I'm moving you.

  6. Chr0 if you where a woman i would kiss you.

I was experimenting with IfoEdit, but it was srt2sup that caused the problem: it's about the outline... I copied your settings, but I didn't deselect 'use default target' because otherwise the sub would be playing too much on the left side. The default setting for the outline is '5', I changed it to '1', result: a good sub.
So mats.hogberg this probably also the solution for your discs.

Sounds good! (well apart from the kissing )

The placement values i wrote is only to make the subs viewable on my 16:9 tv, when i resize the screen to get rid of the black bars in top and bottom(it has a little too much overscan)

    Best regards
