  1. New version of Alparysoft Lossless Codec is released.
    http://www.alparysoft.com/prod/compression/index.php
Codec is developed for encoding and decoding of video without
any mathematical losses (i.e. source and destination video are absolutely identical after encoding/decoding process)
seems cool and better than HuffYUV!

I appreciate keeping us up to date with this but I remember the same as BJ_M. Can I load this into virtualdub or Virtualvcr and capture just like huffyuv now?

I tiried it out and it seems to work A OK with Virtualdub. Qualitywise, donīt see any difference with hffyuv, files tend to be 1/5 smaller though... 8)

Just did a test on it (using VirtualDub) and got some odd results:

    Code:
    Source : 7000 frames - 368x272 30fps

    Codec Setting Speed File Size
    ----- ------- ---------- ---------
    Huffy n/a 64 fps 776 mb
Alpary RealTime 32 fps 666 mb
     " MaxCompress 11 fps 679 mb
    Conclusion:
It seems too slow for serious full-size capture, file sizes are not much better, and why the larger file-size using the Max Compression option.
I'll stick with the tried-and-true Huffy.

This test was done on an Athlon 1100 (256mb mem) Windows XP Pro which has been my video capture machine for several years (as you see Huffy is well within its limits).

The codec: RGB format enabled, prediction enabled.

I also have a Pentium4 3ghz with 1gb mem, that is used for video processing but I haven't tried the codec on this, obviously it should be faster.

Are you saying that you got large file sizes using the Athlon?

Sorry for mistunderstanding..actually i meant the speed that was twice faster than during your test.
