  1. I have 2 SVCD disks that i want to convert to DVD.

I have copied the .mpg files to my HD. Tried using TMPGE Plus to convert but always get the error "cannot open or unsupported"

Can anyone help please. Is this due to CODEC? If so where can i get the correct codec from.

    Thanks

  3. Thanks. That was quick. I have already tried GSPOT but again i have problems.

I load the mpg file and in the codec video and audio areas all i get is n.a.

in the STAT area i have " This is, or appears to be, an unsupported filetype. GSpot provides full support for AVI and OGG media streams. Based on its composition, GSpot believes the filetype to be "RIFF/CDXA -->MPEG (.MPG/.MPEG/.VOB)".

The film i am trying to convert was dloaded from internet as cue/bin file.

Run the MPEG file through DVD2AVI and save to a project. Make sure all audio options are set to demux (not decode).

This will give you a D2V project file that you should be able to load directly into TMPGEnc

It will also extract a copy of your audio file out of the MPEG file.

You will need to convert the audio to 48k as the SVCD format uses 44.1k audio.

  5. THANKS for the info. OK i have done what you suggested but i am not sure how to convert the audio to 48k. Also does the audio come from the T01 DELAY -90ms.mpa file? or should i select the .d2v file for the audio streem also?

    Cheers

Use BeSweet and the BeSweet GUI to convert the mpa file (which is in MP2 format) into a WAV file.

If you set it up correctly it should be able to also do the conversion from 44.1k to 48k while doing the mpa/mp2 to wav conversion and also get rid of the delay (which you want to do).

In the end you want a 16-bit stereo 48k WAV file.

At that point you can use it AS IS or you can convert it back to MP2 or better yet AC-3

The D2V project file is what you use for the video input.

    P.S.
I should have pointed out that if you are using TMPGEnc then you should set DVD2AVI to use RGB (not YUV) and set it to PC SCALE (not TV SCALE).
