  1. I've looked on the site, but I could not find any info on how big the file I would capture to make a VCD would be.
You see, I capture in 480x480 interlaced without visual making(which I don't know stands for what.), I've selected a bitrate of 8MB/sec. There are other options, but I don't understand them. Anyway, I end up with a 5Gig mpeg2 file which looks really great, but is maybe too big.

    Thanks for anyone who answers.

  2. I think you should use a bitrate of no more than 2.5 MB/sec.
Look at the docs in the site.
Even if you capture short time at 8MB/sec to fit in a cd, when you play it in a standalone player it probably hangs.
I'm really newbie so not sure about what I say.

  3. VCDs are always 10Megs/minute. Anything different would be an xVCD, which is not playable on all DVD players. If you've captured your MPEG2 file, I'd convert it to VCD format using TMPGEnc (see Tools on the left side) and you'll end up with a file that is 10Megs/minute using the VCD NTSC format.

For capturing you always want to go with a very high bitrate. You can always shrink it later.

Frame serve it into tmpge with dvd2avi and re encode it to what you need. 2000kb = about 44 min per 80min cd with 160 audio.
