  1. Hi All

I have am Mpeg file that when I try and play it in QT on my Mac I get this message:-

Could'nt open file "xxxxx.mpg" Becuase the movie contains an incorrect duration.

If load this Mpeg into ffmpeg to convert to an avi, this what happens.

Once it is loaded into ffmpegx and I click play, it plays fine no problems, I then encode it and once finished I click preview in ffmpegx and it plays fine.

In QT the video plays but no sound.

If I then try and put the avi through DD2 to make it a movie, I get error reports from DD2.

    Any ideas anybody...

    Original Mpeg file info:-

    VIDEO: mpeg-1, size: 352x288, 25.000 fps, 1150 kbps. AUDIO: mp2, 44100Hz, 224 kbps.

Maybe you could demux the mpeg file, see if the duration of both parts is the same. Then remux the audio and the video as VCD.

Not sure if it helps, 'cause I haven't seen that error before.

  3. OK, I demuxed the file, but I cannot do a remux, ffmpegx tells the files are not recognised, but I get this message from also if demux and try to remux a good mpeg. I assume that I am doing something wrong.
