Ok well heres the problem i loaded the .avi file into tmpgenc and under the audio input its blank yet when i watch the file on my computer there is audio. I tryed loading it in virtualdub and ripping the audio track to a .wav but it just says "error initializing audio streem decompression the requested conversion is not possible". It also said something about a microsoft audio codec but i cant find that for the life of me SO if anyof you brilliant ppl out there can help a poor soul find his audio it would be GREATLY apreciated Thanks!

AFAIK TMpgEnc only accepts Wave and MP3 audio. If your movie usus a different codec, such as AC3, neither TMpgEnc nor the older VirtualDub versions will work with it, although a sftware player with installed codecs will. Try VirtualdubMod, it can handle nearly every sound codec.
There are only 10 types of people in the world:
Those who understand binary
and those who don't.
