This movie is spanned over two DVD's - disc one and disc two.
I'd like to backup it up onto two DVDR's with minimal compression if any.
I will copy approx 80% of disc one (Movie Only) to the first DVDR.

My problem is, how can I put the last 20% of disc one and the remaining movie on disc two to the second DVDR to play seamlessly?

I would prefer to use open source software if possible....tight on cash.

    Thanks

PS I've used IFOedit and VOBedit with "not so great results"
Any other methods would be greatly appreciated.

    1. use Shrink w_start-end to do DVDR 1 with 80% of the movie.
    2. remembering where you cut the scene in step 1 go to this point and do the remaining 20% and backup this segment of the movie.
    3. here we have a split step depending on your software arsenal. for a non-seamless FREE method join of the 20% segment and disc 2 in Shrink in reauthor mode. read a guide on the left if this is new to you. if you have access to DVD2One v1.3 or better use the seamless join feature to combine the 20% movie and disc 2.
    good luck.

    Noki,

It looks like DVD2One might be my answer. Do you know if the trial version is disabled in any way, and how long can I use it before it stops working? $40 dollars seems very reasonable if it has that capability. Also, would you happen to know if I can take multiple VOB's I've ripped and put them all together to play seamlessly?

    Thanks dude

    Yes. trial version info...
Before buying this product, please first evaluate and test it.
Processes the movie exactly like the full version, but the output is limited to 30 minutes of video.
Compression ratio based on the full length of the movie, not on the 30 minutes that will be processed.
Evaluation period limited to 14 days.
if seamleass joining is that important go for it! plus you will get a very fast transcoder (like Shrink) that can process main movie only rips (which Shrink cannot do). the quality is comparable to Shrink's using DA.
PLEASE...no replys RE: Shrink better than DVD2One. I have both, use one or the other, sometimes Shrink's output is better (on some movies) while other times DVD2One gives better results. NO WARS please JUST MY 2 CENTS.
