I have made a few VCD-DVD's and now a friend of mine wants a few different things that are on two different disk. One has worked fine but the other does not. When you play it the time sow correctly but after you rip it and load it into authoring software the time does not show correctly. Correct time shows as 2:27:00 but now reads as 1:24:00. This is causing a huge problem with audio sync. Can anybody tell me what is causing this and what i might be able to do to fix it.

What authoring tool are you using? Try TMpgenc DVD Author if you haven't already.

If there VCD's the stream information is stored in a .dat file. TDA will open and author directly from the .dat file. It will resample the audio to 48000 to be DVD compatible. If the VCD uses standard 352x240 resolution the video does not need to be converted.

all of these videos are already on DVDs. I have done this before and had no problem but this one and one other are giving me problems. All play fine on the dvds but when i take them from the dvd the length changes and by almost a hour. Audio/video is way out of sync. I have demuxed the video and the audio from the right title set using several different progam and various results on the time code. None of which turn out right.

Would give more info but not sure what info is needed to help so if i am missing something ask and i will tell.

    Thanks

What kind of audio is in the vob files? VCD would be mp2 at a sample rate of 44100. Did you resample to 48000 when you created the DVD? Did you try VOBEDIT for the demux?
