  1. Hello, i would like to make VCD.But when i check the compatibility chart i get confused.
Some say CDR no and VCD yes.
How do i read this chart?
and how do i know if my DVD player can play VCD?
    Are VCD considered CDR?
    thanks

and then my friends have a DVD player. one has a KOSS and the other has a Polaroid DVR-0900

  2. Read the manual for your dvd player.
If it will play vcd, generally that means it will play cdr.
Odds are that the cheap(er) Koss will play anything, and an expensive Polaroid may only play SVCD.
Of 5 different dvd players I have gone through, the expensive ones are the most fussy with video format. My $50 Koss will even play non-standard VCD, none of the others will.
You're going to have to burn a tester and try it. That's the only way to know for sure on any dvd player.

If you make homemade vcds your dvd player must support both VCD and CDR/CDRW.
