  1. Hi All,

Apologies in advance for such as loaded question. I have several QT Mov video's, that are very high in quality at a size of 320x240.

I have tried I don't know how many ways, (TMPGenc, Premiere, Nero) to convert these to 720x576 mpegs or avi's so that I can burn them to DVD, with DVD quality. I can do the resize and conversion no problem, but the end quality is absolutely awful. They're either all pixelated or blocky or blurred.

They are watchable, but surely there is a way of taking something that is very high quality and getting it to a format that can be then burned to DVD and subseqently watched on widescreen TV's in the same quality as the original Mov File?

I have even managed to get a straight conversion to an avi in the same resolution (320x240) as the original but all you get is a small box in the middle of your TV?

Any ideas? Or is there no way of doing this at all with a huge loss of quality due to the increase in resolution to PAL Standard 720x576?

    Please, any ideas?

You've already discovered the results of resizing a 320x240 video to 720x576. Try it again, only this time use 352x288, which is still a valid DVD resolution but far more forgiving of smaller source resolutions. You'll probably still lose a bit of quality but not as much as your first attempt.
