    Well I decided to give PVR a whirl and I have to say I am thoroughly unimpressed. There's no electronic program guide, the channel line up is all wrong because it lists the composite and S-video inputs of my ATI AIW card as channels 1 and 2 respectively, there's no way to tell if you are dropping frames while recording, the options dialog isn't nearly as comprehensive as it should be and is poorly designed, I couldn't get the controls to pop up while in full screen mode, it absolutely refused to recognize the audio from my sound card's line input and the overall UI is terrible. I'll be sticking with ATI MMC thank you very much.
