    I have a avi file with a medium quality that have these properties (from avicodec)

    File : 699 MB (699 MB), duration: 1:03:07, type: AVI, 1 audio stream(s), quality: 59 %

    Video : 655 MB, 1452 Kbps, 29.970 fps, 512*384 (4:3), XVID = XVID Mpeg-4, Supported

    Audio : 43 MB, 96 Kbps, 48000 Hz, 2 channels, 0x55 = MPEG Layer-3, Supported

    I want to convert it to vcd or svcd
    What do you suggest i choose between the two ?
    And what aspect of the original file make you go toward one format or the other

    aspect ratio would have no bearing .. depends what you want to play it back as is really only question ..

    i would pick svcd as first choice ...

    I see you would choose SVCD, i would like to why you would choose this one so next time i can do the same deduction that you did and do the right choice

    its higher quality

    you can have the same aspect ratio in scvd as vcd -- so i didnt see how that would mater ..

    the fact that the Video have a bitrate of 1452 Kbps ?
