  1. Greetings.

I am brand new at this so please bear with me. I use the well-known sequence DVD Shrink --> DVD Decrypter to rip and burn a disc. When I try to write -using DVD Decrypter- on a DVD-RAM disc using my DVD-RAM capable Panasonic DVD writer, DVD Decrypter gives me a message stating that the target disc is not empty (even though it is!) When I try burning directly on a DVD-R it burns just fine. I have tried a couple of brand new single-sided and double-sided DVD-RAM discs and I always get the "Disc not Empty" message. I know the answer is probably obvious, but can anyone point it out to me? Do the RAM discs need to be formated or something? Or do the DVD Decrypter settings need to be changed in some way? I already have the option of "erase target media" checked, but I don't know what else to do. Help!

Why don't use just use DVD-R discs all the time...DVD-RAM are too expensive and already a thing of the past

  3. Well, eventually I suppose that is what I will do. I just was using RAM's because they are re-writable and I wanted to test some alternative ripping/burning combinations until I found one I liked best. Also, I own a Panasonic DMR-E80, and having a RAM-capable writer gives me compatibility if I want to move projects back and forth betwen the two.
