  1. I want use TMPGEnc to encode some rmvb (real media variable bitrate) into some mpeg files. I dont like to use EO video. It sux.
I have heard that using real media alternative codec will let TMPGEnc recongize the rmvb file. Please give me some advice and pointers tips and guides.

This is what worked for me. I uninstalled all Real Networks software and then installed Real Alternative. I used EO Video to decompress the real audio to wav and used that as my audio source in TMPGEnc(it probably won't recongnize the audio of real media files). When selecting the RMVB as the video source you'll have to change the "files of type" slider to "all files", as TMPGEnc does not natively support real media. There's no guarantee you'll be successful with the conversion so good luck.

  3. Now i've got another problem. I want to combine three files together into one mpeg. TmpegEnc only combines two and stops. I tried renaming the files but it still only sees two files. Please help.

What kind of files are you trying to join? Do they have the same properties? What do you mean TMPGEnc only sees two? How did you try to combine them? As you can see I need a lot more info.

  5. ok they are rmvb.
TMPEGEnc reads only two of them but i put three in the same folder.
i check by look at the source setting and also the time in the wizard.
    they're named: video1.rmvb
    video2.rmvb
    video3.rmvb
    why doesn't it combine three?

    Try naming them like this:

    video001.rmvb
    video002.rmvb
    video003.rmvb

Which two did it reognize, the first two or the last two? To be honest, I've never had to encode multiple files into one like that. I normally just encode them seperately and join them afterwards. Mainly because of possible a/v sync problems. If there's one single problem your whole file is worthless. Too risky if you ask me. Good luck to you though.

  7. TMPEGEnc gave me an "illegal floating point calculation order" error.
What the hell does that mean?

    It means you're fucked. :P j/k
I really don't know what it means. It doesn't sound very promising though. Maybe you're better off converting the files individualy and joining them afterwards.
