I am a complete newbie to alol of this

I would like to capture a TV program and eventually convert it to mpeg on my computer.

Can someone please tell me where to begin.

I know this has probs been asked loads so im sorry.

You can probably buy a graphics card that will also do MPEG capture. They're reasonably priced. If you're looking for higher quality than just TV shows I suggest a separate capture card. If you look on the left of this page you'll see a link there for capture cards. Look around and get familiar with the terminology. Also, I suggest reading in the "How To" section (also on the left).
