Got an NEC DVD+R/+RW burner with my new Dell Pentium 4 PC. The Sonic MyDVD software won't allow me to vary the write speed (the option is grayed out and set to "auto"). So I downloaded TMPGEnc's new DVD Author Trialware. That software ALSO has the write speed option grayed out for DVD burning and is preset to "max". I suspect that since my DVD burner is burning at the max speed that it may be causing the jittery playback on my DVD's which is driving me NUTS. I want to burn at a slower speed to confirm this. I've never heard of a burner that doesn't allow you to vary the write speed so at this point I don't know if I have a software problem or a hardware problem. Dell has been of no help, of course. Does anybody have any suggestions? Should I keep downloading different authoring/burning trialware to see if those software also have the write speed grayed out? If its a hardware problem could I need some sort of new driver?
Many thanks.
