    Proving we were better off without technology

    In case you haven't seen it, an airplane flys over a primitive african culture, and drops an empty coke bottle on them...they think it's something sent from the gods and try to figure out what it is and what to do with it.
    They end up finding all sorts of things to use it for, and the once peaceful comunity become overcome with greed and fight over the thing sent from the heavens.
    What was once a great thing has made them miserable...so they need to give it back to the gods in order for them to live in harmony.
    So the lead character has to journey on to find the edge of the world, so that he can get it off the face of the earth....upon his travels, he encounters modern civilization.
    This movie is funny in a profound way

    In 1980 I was-3

    Evil Dead was close (1981)

    It's hard to find a movie that is exactly 1980. Most of my favorites were from 83-85

    Edit:: Found one.Mother's Day You can't beat crappy Troma movies.

    for me, its got to be " the shinning " was only 9 at the time so i didnt see it in 1980, more like i saw it about 1985, but it came out in 1980. it made me laugh like a psychopath!
