  1. Hello All,

Few questions for the learned folk vist these boards.....

I use Shrink to backup a DVD9, is it possible to uncompress the finished DVD5?(DL burners hit and I would like to "restore" some lost quality)

Is there an authoring tool that will allow me to remove unwanted extras, and preserve menu structure?(and not cost an arm and a leg)

    Thanks for your time

  2. For the most part, once you toss out information, you can't get it back. You can do some futzing with the video (filters, re-encoding, etc.) but it will not be equivalent to your original video files.

As for removing extras and leaving menu structure, there's everything from programs like TitleSetBlanker (free) to payware titles. Check the Tools section (to the left) under "DVD to DVD".

As GbMedusa stated TitleSetBlanker is the way to go for removing unwanted extras.

it is not possible to uncompress a movie once you have compressed it. why dont you use the original again. rip the dvd to your hard drive, use titlesetblanker to strip out extras, then use dvd shrink for compression.

  4. The golden rule is: -

    "Garbage in Garbage Out"

    or in your case

    "Good in Good Out"

You will not be able to increase the quality by anything near your original.
