  1. i want to make a video about 15 seconds long with just some text on the screen and and audio clip in the background that i can tag onto the beginning or end of any dvd's i make. any recommendations on teh best program for this? i have ulead video studio 6 and it's a good program, but i can only make the image 320x240 and once it's stretched out that looks bad. plus i can't figure out how to get the title track and audio overlayed onto each other. any suggestions?

    Sure. Let's say you want a video that is 720 x 480.

    1. Select New Project-->DVD. This gives you a title video that will be 720 x 480. Select OK.

    2. Now the background. Here I would suggest getting Main Concept's Free Animated loops, but if you have your own proceed. If the Storyboard mode is active, drag and drop the background video onto the open slots. If you chose the loops, repeat until video is fifteen seconds long.

    3. Select Title. The Timeline will be active. Select the Create Title Icon in the upper left corner, and type in and format your title. Input how long the title should last. Add the shadow, etc. Select the Apply button. Select the Create Title icon.

    4. Go to the subtitle line on the Timeline and slide the subtitle to where you want it to appear on the Timeline.

    5. Go to Audio. Here you can select VS6's audio track, but if you have your own, select the Folder icon in the lower left corner-->Add Audio--To Voice Track/To Audio Track. Select your audio with the browser.

If your audio is too long, move your mouse cursor to the end of the track and drag it until it matches the end of the video. If it is too short, add another audio file until it matches the video, or until it is too long, then shorten as above.

    6. Save the project as a file. Do not add your feature video here unless it is 720 x 480 resolution, or VS6 will stretch it to fit. If your video's resolution is smaller than 720 x 480, go ahead and use, just make sure your original video maintains its resolution. Making your title smaller will not hurt its quality that much.

    What do you think?

  4. I have used windows movie maker to create title screens for my dvd projects. You can add audio easily. There are many transitions available.
