  1. My After Effects used to work fine up until I installed (and later on uninstalled) the Nimo Codec Pack. After that, I tried to clean up the mess, and reinstalled all my codecs, but some movies play and some others don't... Seems like the registry, or something else is mistaken... Usually VideoLan and Vdub work with all of them, but I can only import uncompressed clips onto After Effects. Any Xvid or Divx (or any other codec) compressed clip will bring up an error message saying this:

    After Effects error: no such AVI compressor (-2147205007)
    (53::33)

    Any info regarding this problem that I found on the Adobe site is quite useless. Anyone can figure out what might be happening? By the way, I wouldn't like to format my HD... any other solution? Thanks in advance!
