Use dvdinfopro and post the media code. also alternatively search DVD MEDIA on the left hand tabs and search that media with your drive. See what others have reported.

    Cheers.

Memorex dvd media is crappy & sucks if it is manufactured by CMC. That could be why you're having problems with it. As mentioned use DVDINFOPRO or DVD IDENTIFIER.

I have a memorex burner, and oddly enough, I can't rewrite to Memorex -RW's. Of course, I can't rewrite to CompUSA -RW's either. I only have luck with +RW's. But to sum it up, I also had bad experiences with Memorex -RW's, but it may be my drive.

All the talk on here about Memorex has brought me to the conclusion that buying these things is nothing but a crap shoot. You never really know if you bought the "good" ones till you get them home. Why do you folks put yourselves through that crap time and time again?
Remember how Memorex cassette tapes sat on the shelves while Maxell and TDK tapes were usually half gone?
Find yourself a reputable online retailer and buy RITEK discs.

I have 5 of these that I have been rewriting many times when testing the final output of my home videos on TV.

The only thing I noticed, which I believe comes from my DVD player is that for the disk to be recognised, the disk must be at least 4GB. To get to that, I copy files in the audio_ts folder until I get to a minimum of 4GB.

Otherwise, no problem to report so far.

Maybe you could be more specific about the kind of 'troubles' you have had.....

Sounds like the problems I was having. I could write to them once, but after that it wouldn't erase. If I could get it to erase, I couldn't write to it again without failure. I agree.....total crap.

If you have decided it is PURE SHIT, why do you bother asking others their opinion?

What burning software do you use? Do you have the same issue with other media.

Let us try and see if you cannot fix this pb.

The -R's are no better. Both R/w & R,s could never get them to write anything over 4GB. Poped in a Ritek & boom perfect burn, even maxing out the disc at 4.3 GB

  12. Those are the only -RW discs that won't work in my Optorite drives.

I've never figured out why. Neither did Optorite. So I use Maxells.
