You don't think so what? That they burn at 8x? Read some of the other threads from users that have done just that. I'm not looking to debate the issue, just repeating what I've read.

Memorex is out of stock for online orders. If you change your order to local store pick up you should be able to get some.

I'm sure OfficeDepot is still making money on the deal, as Memorex is set at too high of a retail price anyway... :P

  9. Ordered two 50 pack spindles on line for about $64. Picked them up at my local store. They're ProdiskS03.

    Note - Pioneer 107D owners:
    ---------------------------------
With my Pioneer 107D, and the hacked 1.10 fw, they didn't burn good at all at 4X, or 6X, or 8X. I switched back to the official 1.10 fw. Now I can burn 4X with good quality. I think there's something wrong with the hacked fw at 4X.

  10. I'm SO F.....ING PISSED! I ordered these last night to be picked up at my local store (San Antonio, TX) and drove 25 mins to get them. Guess What? The lady, who I assume was a manager, basically in as few words as possible told me I had committed coupon fraud and needed to call a online web manager about this "double coupon" thing. So, don't know how ya all are doing it, but didn't work for me!!!
p.s. She told me I could still use the buy one get one free deal, I told her to stick it!!!

That manager didn't know what she was talking about. If the coupon was not valid, how would the website have accepted the order? Did you pay for it online with a credit card? If you didn't, that's usually where the trouble starts, as the $20 off $75 coupon cannot register on the store level because it is an online coupon for purchase from the site. The only difference is that you are telling the website you are going to pick up you order instead of having it delivered.

I had a problem a while ago when I used the coupons and marked it to be a pickup paid with cash. When I got to the store, the manager had a problem processing the web coupons, but he was cool and forced them thru. He told me next time it would be easier for me to pay for it with a credit card online then just do the pickup.

Call to speak to a customer service representative to straighten it out - 1-800-GO-DEPOT (1-800-463-3768).

  12. Well thanks for the info, but that's pretty much what I did. When I got there I grabbed a few other items, and then went to the lady I spoke to earlier, and that's when she said the order was actually cancelled b/c of the double "coupon fraud". She in fact called customer srvc. for me right then and there and they told her NO WAY! Can't do it! Btw, I had ordered and paid for them w/ a CC. Kinda sucks doesn't? So, not being a happy camper, I came home called that #, and that lady told me the same damn thing. I told it accepted them last night, with no problem, and she said "Only coupons from their official site can be used, and she did not see this code anywhere on the site." I will never buy from them again.

Note that it does say excludes tech items, but that's usually just electronics themselves. Also it's off of $75 order, so you should buy the $15 extra on something to get this, since it can be legitimate to not stack that one when you only spent $60. These coupons tend to go out through email, saying they must be somewhere on the site isn't true, how else would anyone have ever gotten that number if OD didn't send it?

That said go back with someone else in tow as a witness or even a recorder, and have that idiot manager say you are doing coupon fraud again. While this may not be something that OD intended to go through, that manager is a stupid fool to be accusing you of a crime when you clearly didn't commit one. In most states you can take her and the store for a few $K or so for doing so if you don't tire out going through the courts. Short of absolute incontrovertable evidence that they actually did commit a crime against you, you don't ever accuse a customer of trying to rip you off. Bad business and a very bad legal prospect if you're wrong..

Yes, but the site determines what is considered a tech item when you apply the coupon. Once in a while it won't let you use the coupon for recordable discs, but most of the time it does. Also, the Memorex is $79.97 BEFORE applying the $20 OFF $75 coupon, so the usage IS legit.

I just got back from picking up my 200 Memorex DVD-R discs, $64.47 per hundred, no problems at my store!

  15. Thank you for the coupons. I just left the Office Depot in Charlotte NC, and the young lady at the customer service desk allowed me to use both coupons. She stated that as long as the coupon is valid on the web, then they should be valid in the stores. 200 DVDs retail @ $319.88, and I paid $161.19 ($149.94 + $11.25 sales tax). Greatest deal that I have ever found. $0.81 per DVD!

Thank you again. The only negative is that NC charges 7.5% sales tax.

So the -Rs are Prodisc or CMC? Or are there potential Ricohs for -R?

  17. IT just figures, I get the one idiot in Texas that decides to be an A__hole! I would make a bigger stink about it, but after calling the online cust. srvc, and them saying the same, I just went ahead and got the printable 100 pack at amazon for 100.00.

P.S. If there is anyone else in San Antonio, that did this, let us know!!!!!

  18. Sorry to hear about your situation. The confusing thing is that the associates only needed to input the coupon codes, which match the codes in the newspaper circulars, and they would have noticed that the coupons would have been validated. Terrible customer service at your location.

  19. If you guys use Office Depot, make sure you go thru the shoplunatic.com portal. You need to signup (free), but you get an additional 1% rebate. Every little bit helps

  20. Most people are saying that DVD-R are CMC and DVD+R are Ricoh. However, I think if you get the DVD+R, get the spindle with only 1 ring inside or tightly packed one. I went to my local Office Depot and picked up two packs of DVD+R (total $64.92). They had two packs of DVD+R reserved at the customer service desk when I arrived. These DVD+R indeed had three rubber rings inside the spindle and sure enough it was a CMC (CMC MAG F01 to be exact according to dvdinfopro). However, I checked other DVD+R (had only two more spindles at the store) and both of them had 3 rubber rings inside. They did have tons of DVD-R however.

I guess I'm lucky because I live in a small town and my Office Max never gave me any problems (like manager asking for the rebate codes) and always had my order reserved.

I don't know how well these CMC disc are compared to other CMC disc. Last batch of CMC discs I had were Philips 2X DVD+R (CMC MAG R01), and I had problem with 4 discs, constant pixelation and blotches on the bottom of the disc. I've burned Memorex DVD+R today and so far it seems okay (no error with found on the scan).

Even if you can't order it online (with the discount), it's still pretty descent deal $79.99 for 100 discs (even better if you can get the Ricohs).

    Happy Hunting

Thanks for your info, I planned to buy TDK or Imation this week, but when I saw Memorex 100 for less than $65.00, then I chose Memorex. I used 2 coupons and it worked like a champ. I picked them up and they are Ricoh for DVD+R
If you want to buy another set, you have to create another account and do it with the 2 coupons again. You can not buy 4 at the same time. The discount work great if you oder with different account
Here is my DVD+R Memorex info:

Good luck guys, if you can not buy it in the stuppid store , then choose another one, sometime you get a bad guy in there who know nothing but be a manager , what can we say

  23. OD wont let you use the $20 coupon on it anymore. You can still get it at the store for $80 though.

  24. online shows insufficient stock, unless someone can give me a zip code that has stock.

so went to store, they had 1 DVD+R left and about 5 DVD-R, got one of each, the buy 1 get one worked, tried to give them the code for $20 off, but the manager said I had to have the actual coupon. Didn't feel like paying $86 for them, left.

I got mine, decided to get one +R and one -R. The mgr lady didnt have a problem, but when she rang it up it came to $84.00. I told her i had a $20.00 off coupon code online . She asked for the number but I didnt have it with me, just had the printed copy i got from online which did not include the coupon codes. Anyway, she did some farting around and I guess she found it and I got my discs for $64.00 after tax.
-R are prodiscs and +R cmc mag. But for 64.00 not too shabby.

Are the Prodiscs considered to be better than the CMC?

My DVD+R discs are CMC as well. I've tested 4 of them in DVDinfoPro and 3 of them at the 99% mark had errors. They seem to play ok in my player (although I haven't watched the whole movies, just clicked chapter to chapter to check for visible errors). I don't know, I'm thinking about just returning them and forking out more bucks for media which doesn't give me errors (at least not at this rate). Any thoughts?

  29. I placed mine on backorder after calling the 1-800# and verifying that I would still get the deal if order was placed while coupon was still valid.I've got 100 Mem DVD-R's coming for $65 when they are in stock again!

CMC arent that bad for this price really. Some are purists and want perfection. I just burn em slow and Im ok as far as the mags go. The prodiscs are realy not as good as what they could have been..namely ricohs, but oh well.
Again, cheap and out the door. not too bad. OM has the Ridata(atria)+R 4x for $89.00 for 100 which is pretty good media at well below a buck a disc, which is my cut off price for a very good deal on very good media.
