i read more on this and wnat to know is it the way i am converting that is causing this program or is the the MEDIA i use i use MAXELL CD-R74 cds? so the MAIN quesiton is is the the MEDIA? or the ENCODING?

Honestly, both...bad/incompatible media can cause, or the fact your player doesnt like CDRs, I always CDRWs, especially if you are just starting out & in testing phase. Makes sense too, if you mess it, you havent made a "coaster".....yes encoding (however, would need to know more about your enitre process to diagnose further) can cause this as well, if your bitrate is too high for your player. I would recommend always starting with standard VCD spec first on a CDRW, make sure that works first.....then experiment/adjust your settings from there...

i start off using VCDIMAGERGUI and encode to AVI to another AVI and change audio to 4800mhz or whatever it is then and then i do a direct stream of the video so the video stays the same after that is done i use TMPGENCODER to convert to MPEG i use the system + video choice i guess i use all DEFAULT settings because i dont change anything then use NERO to burn the VCD and i use default settings... any suggestions or what do i need to change
