I downloaded MovieFactory 3 (Trial edition) and wanted to make a DVD menu for some MPEG files. I added all the files, made the menus the way I wanted, then went to the last page. I clicked the option for making a DVD image and then pressed Output. At 11% of converting the MPEG files the process stops and comes up with something that says "Cannot reuse converted cache file" and then gives the number corresponding to the problem.
Does anyone know what this means and what I have to do to fix it?

If everything is infinite then nothing is definite.

I have never encountered that message.
However, I wonder if there is anything unusual about your source media that would trigger that kind of error.
What are the precise properties of your source media?
For example, when I insert DV .avi files, I observe the following precise properties:
NTSC drop frame (29.97 fps)
Microsoft AVI files
24 Bits, 720 x 480, 29.97 fps
Field Order A
DV Video Encoder -- type 1
DV Audio -- NTSC, 48.000 kHz, 16 Bit, Stereo
When I insert MPEG files that have already been converted from DV .avi files, I might observe the following set of properties:
NTSC drop frame (29.97 fps)
MPEG files
24 Bits, 720 x 480, 29.97 fps
Field Order A
(DVD-NTSC), 4:3
Video data rate: Variable (Max. 8264 kbps)
LPCM Audio, 48 KHz, Stereo
If I'm using source files obtained from my Panasonic VDR-M30 DVD disc camcorder, I observe the following precise properties:
NTSC drop frame (29.97 fps)
MPEG files
24 Bits, 704 x 480, 29.97 fps
Field Order B
(DVD-NTSC), 4 : 3
Video data rate: Variable (8800 kbps)
Audio data rate: 256 kbps
MPEG audio layer 2, 48 KHz, Stereo
How do the properties of your source media compare?
Also, is it possible you may have downloaded/installed the NIMO or Tsunami codec packs?
According to Microsoft:
"Nimo and Tsunami codec packs are untested compilations of various codecs and filters commonly used on the Internet."
"Incompatibilities are known to exist with some of the components in the packs."
"The incompatibilities can cause SERIOUS PLAYBACK ISSUES in Windows Media Player and other multimedia programs, LEAD TO SYSTEM CORRUPTION, and make it difficult for Microsoft Support to diagnose and troubleshoot playback issues."
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/software/v7/v7faq.aspx?section=PLAYBACKI...PLAYBACKISSUES
I would suggest that you remove those codec pack installations if you installed them.
If not, is is possible your system RAM might be problematic?
You can download the FREE Memtest86 utility...

...to rule out the possibility of a defective RAM stick.
Hope this helps,
