  1. The sequence in Premiere Pro is about 50 min and I selected NTSC DVD Progressive 4 mbps bitrate. The output file seems to have the right size (bitrate * secs). But when I play the output .m2v file in any player, the video is only 30 min. The audio lenght is right.

    What am I doing wrong?

    Thanks a lot!

I really don't know a lot about the output format you're using(progressive). I never use it. However, I did have this problem a while ago. I never used to multiplex either. For that file, I tried outputting a multiplexed DVD mpeg. It was fine(compared to the non-multiplexed m2v and wav files. Also, make sure you didn't do anything careless like have the timeline till only 30 mins when you were generating the video file. (I've done silly things like that before). Anyways, eliminate these cases before one of the gurus here can help you further. I don't know if it has anything to do with the progressive format you're using or not. Maybe someone else can help you with that.

    Cheers.

  3. The entire sequence is slected and output audio is full length. The output video appears to be full length (all scenes are there). It is just the time displayed on the media player is short.

I tried with interleaved as well and the same result. The only thing I didn't try is to multiplex the output. The default is output 2 separate files.

Try opening the m2v in Virtualdub Mod. See if it reports correct length. Your media player could be giving incorrect duration.

Ther is no need to multiplex unless your DVD Authoring s/w demands it.
