  1. Does anyoen know how i can put a svcd header to a vcd file.
THe tmpgenc works but i wanna know how it works basicall. And where to put it in a vcd using a hex editor.

Have anyone tried to put SVCD header to a divx or xvid file and tested it to play on the standalone dvd player. Shouldnt it work theoretically since divx is hacked mpeg4 codec.

    vcd is mpeg1
    svcd is mpeg2
divx 3 is hacked mpeg4 ms codec
    divx5+ is new mpeg4 codec

do a google search on hexeditors -- there are a 1000 of them.

good luck - since i'm not sure what you are trying to do .. would be a LOT of editing since headers are on every frame ..

  3. By the way...DivX is not the hacked Microsoft MPEG4 codec you refer to. That was Divx 3.11 The Divx 4x & 5x versions (available for the past few years) were built from the ground up. You can read all about it at www.Divx.com

  5. Hi,

I suggest you try dvdpatcher from this website.

If you like, you could then compare a patched and an unpatched file with a hexeditor.
But be careful : the MPEG format with its streams and so on is NOT easy to understand (and patch). YOu could spend MANY hours in understanding where is what.
