Chapters with Dvdauthor

I'm not getting the whole chapter thing. I set chapter times for every 10 minutes when I authored my movie with dvdauthor. Like this:

00:00:00:0
00:10:00:0
etc
etc

I thought this would make my standalone DVD player "skip" ahead 10 minutes. I can't seem to find anything on my remote to make it advance. If I hit the "Go to" button, I get this:

"Title 01/01 chapter 006/006"

And I just noticed if I hit "go to" again, it does this:
"time: 00:00:00"

From here I can poke in a time. Oh, well better than nothing I guess....

There should be a pair of skip buttons on your remote,if not skip this.
