Normally i never needed help, but im afraid im lost on this one.
I have a few Xvid files that are 640x256 16:9 5:2 23.97 FPS with ac3 audio.I want to keep the aspect ratio intact and Author this in dvd format. But i dont want to lose any video quality by changing the resolution to 720x480.I tried to encode 352x240 but came up invalid resolution using 16:9,now i really havent tried authoring dvd's with 16:9 before so can someone help me out here?

However I don't think your Xvid is anamorphic 16x9 ... it sure doesn't sound like it is at 640x256 ... my guess is it is 4:3 ratio (but without the black above and below the image).
But don't worry you can make an anamorphic 16x9 DVD with it.
The easiest way is to use TMPGEnc since it will do the resizing for you. You can use CINEMA CRAFT ENCODER or MAINCONCEPT MPEG ENCODER but then you will have to use FitCD and Avisynth scripting. This can be a bit tricky to do if you are NOT experienced.
So using TMPGEnc simply fire up the WIZARD MODE and select the 16x9 DVD template (you have your choice of PAL or NTSC depending on what your source is). Then once you load your source set the aspect ratio of the source to 1:1 VGA and set VIDEO ARRANGE METHOD to FULL SCREEN (KEEP ASPECT RATIO).
TMPGEnc will now properly resize the Xvid source so that you end up with an anamorphic 16x9 MPEG-2
