  1. Sometimes when I record something on a DVD. I will then come back and see the TV screen is in black and white and the picture is not moving. I hit the STOP to end the recording and I have the word "INVALID" pop up on the TV screen. I have to unplug the recorder to end the recording.

Has anyone else had this happen to them either with this APEX or any other brand? If so what would be causing this?

Freezing can be cured by doing the firmware update and installing an internal fan in units that tend to overheat. Another problem is the power supply tends to output 12 volts that is too low and the unit can burn out in about a year. It can be repaired and upgraded for $35.00 though.
