Avi File Conversion Help

Hi All,
My first post on here so i hope i get a reply, obviously im a total newbie to this so sorry if this has been covered millions of times.
All im after is a good guide how to convert an Avi file to Dvd/mpeg2 quality without losing sound sync. I use Tmpge to Author it but im having trouble with the Audio going out of sync. Here is the Specs:
File : 696 MB (696 MB), duration: 1:32:04, type: AVI, 1 audio stream(s), quality: 54 %
Video : 611 MB, 929 Kbps, 25.0 fps, 640*352 (16:9), DX50 = DivXNetworks Divx v5, Supported
Audio : 84 MB, 128 Kbps, 44100 Hz, 2 channels, 0x55 = MPEG Layer-3, Supported

What is the best way to convert this file into a DVD, I have a pacific dvd player so it will play almost everything.

You need to extract the sound from the video so that you have a seperate audio file.

Best way to do this is to use GOLDWAVE

You want to save as a 48k (not 44.1k) 16-bit Stereo PCM WAV file.

Then in TMPGEnc you use the AVI file for the VIDEO input but you then use your extracted PCM WAV audio file for the AUDIO input.

That should work ... unless your AVI has bad frames.

In fact you might want to check for that using VirtualDub first because there is no use going forward if you have bad frames. Can they be fixed? Some say so but good luck if you have 'em.

There are guides here on how to do all this stuff. In the past I might have looked them up for you but you can probably handle doing that yourself
