well, what I dont like about the stereoype we americans have of japan. Everyone thinks japan consists of tokyo.......and only tokyo. When its just a small, well, not small piece of japan. where im living is 10 hrs away from tokyo, on Kyuushuu. Sorta sucks, but ill deal with it. And yes, Internet cafe's will be my friend. or my handy dandy KICKASS cellphone. which does everything i could possibly need.....x4. Tomorrow morn, at like 4, I leave. It sucks because they sold out of business class tickets. So i have to deal with screaming children...........for 9 hrs. GAH! I am gonna miss the USA. Altho the japanese chicks are very nice.....veeeerrryyyy niiiceee...... 8) . well, when I get back, Ill probably be shocked with all the new and advanced stuff that has come out. SO GET CRAKING! im expecting something better then vlc and mplayer.

oh man, Japan is such a beautiful country. Conservative, though. I currently live in the UK, but I am from Australia, and the Japanese are a lot like the British in their accute sense of social status. However, the Japanese are much friendlier and have a kooky quality under their formality which the British painfully lack. Another plus about Japan is that everything works. Britain is a bit like the Soviet Union in its last years. Everything's falling apart and no-one cares.
Now, Taiwan, home of my favourite DVD-Rs, Ritek, is a place worth spending time in. Tallest mountains east of the Himalayas in Taiwan. Unbelievably beautiful. And the Taiwanese are crazy in the best possible way. -

Japan uses GSM with providers offering 3G bandwidth and phones. Some triband GSM phones you can get Stateside will work in Japan, but not with all the latest features they offer there. And I can vouch for Taiwan being cool (well, Taipei at least), but nowhere near as cool as Thailand is. Taiwan and Japan pay better for English teachers, though, especially Japan.
I like systems, their application excepted. (George Sand, translated from French), "J'aime beaucoup les systèmes, le cas d'application excepté." -
Whatever happened to "Enjoy Japan, come back soon..." (given lack of access to rural internet cafes)?
