is it posible to use, lets say only the lower left part of a frame of a clip that i captured, without using the rest the content in the frame.
i'm using vegas 4.0 and dvd architect if so how?

never used either one, so feel free to take this advice with a grain of salt. The video function is called cropping. Some applications may also refer to it as "clipping". See if Vegas can do it. This is a sample of how Virtual Dub does it:
