  1. My new audigy card recording volume is too low. I've set the line-in recording volume to 100% but playback still isn't loud enough. It's only half as loud as my onboard sound set at 25%. I've disabled onboard sound and drivers but that didn't help. What is the problem? Is this a compatibility issue?

  2. Sounds like the playback may be too low. Open up the "mixer" control (the Creative Labs one) that lets you adjust the volume for different sources. Make sure your MASTER volume isn't too low (a common problem --people forget it's there). When checking for playback, make sure the WAVE volume isn't too low. Some programs alter the WAVE level on playback and some alter the MASTER level on playback. Be sure you have both set pretty high.

  3. I don't think adjusting the master volume and wave volume affects recording volume. The Audigy records at less than half the volume of my onboard sound. When I encode with VDub I have to increase volume to 250%.

I have a Audigy 2 Platinum soundcard and regularly use it for recordings, and never really had a problem.

tony123, try to disable other feaures such as microphone, etc that can affect the recording output. see it that works.

try updating your soundcard drivers to the latest ones from the creative website and then try again.

if all else fails, you may have a faulty soundcard, if you still have warranty, you can get the soundcard exchanged for the new one. but first try to contact creative support first to resolve the issue.

  5. All features are muted. Only master volume, wave, and line-in is enabled. But same result. I haven't downloaded new drivers- just used the ones on the cd. Maybe that's the problem.

I notice on the retail box it says model SB0312. But on the card it says SB0310. What's up with that?
