  1. Ok, that worked thanks.

One other question I have. I have a 2 DVDs concert and both have menu's (everything is the same but song list). If i want to make it all one DVD and keep lets say disc1's menu. Can I then go back and edit that menu and add the chapter points for the songs on the 2nd DVD?

I thought I saw somewhere a DVD menu editor or something to that effect.

    Thanks.

There is a tool called MenuEdit. I haven't used it before. I would prefer to do my own menu using TMPGEnc DVD Author or any other authoring software to be sure.
    If in doubt, Google it.

  3. Is there any tool that will "extract" a menu (background picture, buttons, etc.) and then let you import that into an authoring program such as DVDlab or TMPGenc DVD Author.

The menu that was created is pretty cool, and I would rather not lose it.

    Thanks for the help.

  4. Vobrator. Will demux the menu into elementary streams - video, audio and subpicture.

You shouldn't be able to spot any difference - it is the same thing word for word !

It looks like it won't work when there is a VIDEO_TS.VOB with the main movie in it. If your movie is in VTS_01_0.VOB, then it should work. Kapeche ?

Follow points 1 to 6 and you should have success.
Well, when you say that if I follow points 1 through 6 I'll have success, do you mean that the menus will be preserved?, or just that the joint will be succesful? I've already joined two discs following your steps and it did work, except that menus were not preserved.

The joining works no problems at all. The menu will work as long as it is in VTS_01_0.VOB and not VIDEO_TS.VOB. There is a difference !

If you can't get it to work it might be an idea to look at alternatives such as movie only without a menu.
    If in doubt, Google it.

Thanks, jimmalenko. How do I know if the menu is located on the VIDEO or VTS file?

Generally the size of the VIDEO_TS and VTS_01_0 VOB files should give it away. Either that or just play the individual files with something like PowerDVD to see what they are.
    If in doubt, Google it.

  10. Hi,

I've followed your instructions and instructions on various websites. But I seem to have a little problem with the fact that its has not joined the vobs but created several large vob files in the destination directory.

Am I missing the point of the 'join clip' command as it doesn't seem to join but make load of 1Gb vob files?

Basically I have a Pinnacle Showcenter box, and it can play vob files. But to stop skips and file changeovers each of the Vob files on one movie, need to be in a single VOB file.

For example a movie is on a flip disk each side has 4 vobs with the same names. So I rename them from 001 to 008 and then run VobEdit.

It then creates me 8 new vobs in the destination (so no help there).

Worse still when I play the movie in its new configuration I get a massive glitch when the movie is at the flip part. IE I lose 5 seconds of the movie.

Is this something to do with vob id's or cell id's?

Any help will be appricaited as I'm then going to try and merger a two disk movie into one file.
