  1. I have a Pioneer 106D drive and use Nero and Copy to DVD to burn discs. I have managed to burn DVDs previously but over the last week I am getting the same error whenever I try.

In Copy to DVD the writing seems to start and then stops - it then waits for an hour or so to tell me that the write has failed. The exact error message is "Write sector failed at sector 784(16) - Code 00 04 08 (No sense information)". I have tried different media so I don't think that it is that. I have also tried reducing the write speed to x1 but still it makes no difference.

Can anyone please help as this is driving me mad!

    Thanks

  2. when was the last time you defragmented your hard drive(s)? Almost sounds like a buffer issue.

    Just another suggestion:

Maybe removing and reinstalling Copy To Dvd. Have you installed anything in the past week that could have effected your aspi drivers?

  7. if its taking that long to do a seek i wouldn't like to think about the condition of your laser.i had a similar problem with a 106 which was 11 months old-tried everything to no avail-eventually sent it back to supplier and the confirmed that the laser was faulty and replaced it with a 107d-yippee-8x burning on all good dvd-r media now (with hacked firmware)
