Drive = NEC1300a
Problem = Disks write OK. Work OK for a week or so. Then start to lose/corrupt data!
I've burnt around 20 DVDs, various makes, +R & -R, and the write process completes without errors. The DVD will work fine on NEC and other drives for a while, and then I find the movie will stop or I cannot read the data (cyclic redundancy check error) that was originally fine.
I'm begining to think the NEC1300 drive is faulty.
Any ideas anyone?

Well, im just guessing but i think u're using cheap media and burn at 4x right? That happends do me too, thats why burn at 2X only to that kind of media and after i do a "verify written data". Not a burner issue, its a media problem.
I hope i could help ( sorry 4 my english) -
