    I think that HTPC's are the way to go.

    ATI and NVIDIA will soon have cards with hardware support for MPEG-2HD, MPEG1,2 and 4 encode/decode as well as WMV9. Plus, we can all upgrade memory, software and drives.

    I can't beleive that multi-codecs are holding this up. From the article, there is not much between H.264 and WMV9 and MPEG-2 is nothing to decode now. Plus, providers would have a choice.
    For the love of God, use hub/core labels on your Recordable Discs!
