Hiya. I've got a Pioneer DVR-106. I went to the Pioneer website, and downloaded the file for upgrading the firmware to current, but I think it wasn't what they listed it as. The file says that it is for upgrading the firmware to 1.07, and it was the link for a Windows machine. The file is labeled "14843429AAR06v107.EXE."

Ok, here's the problem. My firmware was at 1.05, and I ran the update, and it only brought me up to 1.06. At first I wondered if I was supposed to do it twice, but I opened the file, which was an archive, and inside it shows the following in the notes (Winrar, r-hand panel details):

Setup=UPGDVD
Overwrite=1
Title=DVR-106D/DVR-A06 FW1.06

And the two files in the archive are:

UPGDVD.exe
R6100106.106

That sure looks like it's only a 1.06 update, but since I've never done this before, I wanted to ask someone who knew for sure before I made a mistake and screwed something up.

Did Pioneer list the wrong file, or should I run it again? Is there another place to locate the proper 1.07 update? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Ps. I've occasionally seen people comment that they didn't like a specific firmware update. If you've heard anything negative implying I should avoid the 1.07 update, I'd appreciate knowing about that, too.

Thanks!
