  1. I've got a firewire connection and a Canopus ADVC-100.

Any links or tutorials would really help. Thanx

  2. K, I just converted my video to DVD. If there is a way to record from a dvd player to a vcr, I'd take this route.

    Anybody?

Also, did I post this topic in the wrong section? If I did, where should I post it?

You need a video display card that has a video out and a sound card that has audio out. You connect these to the VCR "IN". There you go!

There isn't software with the ADVC-100 that lets you play/output video to the video out jacks?

Regarding the DVD to VCR question, just connect the DVD player to the VCR.

  5. I'm using a jvc HR-S2911U and a pioneer DV440. The JVC has AV-in slots in the front. I connected the AV-cables from the pioneer out to the JVC in. I pushed play on the DVD player and record on the vcr. However it didn't record.

I didn't hook up the players to my TV. Should I? and or are there any other reccomendaions?

    Thanx for the replies...

Make sure the VCR input is set to the FRONT A/V input jacks. Try the channel up or channel down buttons on the remote. On my JVC VCR, the front A/V inputs are designated as F-1.

It would be a good idea to hook the TV to the VCR so that you can monitor what you are doing.
