Some of you may remember my problems getting my VHS to DVD conversions to be compatible on one of my DVD players plus my mom's dvd player. Well, I found a work around. I made a DVD from analogue camcorder footage. It didn't work in my bedroom DVD player (Mintek 1600). I then took the DVD, and used DVDXCopy to make a full disc backup. The backup did work in my Mintek 1600. So I took the DVD to my living room TV where I have a much bigger image to examine the quality. Here's my beef: The video was very pixilated at times. The original DVD (Ritek) doesn't get pixilated at all, it's perfect. Just this backup has problems. My question: Could a simple back lead to reduction in quality? I did no compression. It should be a simple 1's and 0's transfer, right? I'm just looking for ideas as to why the quality would have reduced. Oh, and the backup was on a Memorex DVD-R (CMC) brand. Thanks.
