Hi All;
I'm not new to DVD Shrink but I need help with a project I'm working on. I have movies that I would like my grandchildren to see but there is way to much profanity and sexual references even in PG13 movies so I am on a mission for my family to enjoy these flicks worry free. Here is what I'm doing: After putting the movie on my hard drive I go into DVD Shrink and Re - Author. Then I drag and drop about 10 instances of Title1 to the authoring window. I preview the movie and when ever I see or hear something that is objectionable I go to Start / End and edit out that portion of the movie. After editing all of the parts out I burn the movie and it plays fine except for one small thing!..... As the movie plays and gets to the point that I edited it, it stops for about 2 or 3 seconds and then advances to the next scene. Now for the kids this really isn't a problem but if I or someone else want to view it, it can be a nuisance. Question! is there a way to get smooth transitions from my edited clips.

might want to take a shot at TMPGENC DVDAuthor. It wont have the same problem.
It sounds like your player is having an issue with the different instances.
Another alternative would be to get a product that can be found at most christian stores is a box that "removes" profanity, nudity, etc. for TV and video. it wont change or cut out the language, but rather change the subtitles and the actual word from damn to dang or something like that. -
Give this a try:

The problem with Shrink is that everytime you make an edit, it makes a new title set -- most DVD players that I have seen have a little pause when jumping between title sets. Also, as stated, you can definitly do this with TMPG DVD Author, but I'm pretty sure you'll have to get the AC3 plugin as well (you can't hear the audio normally in the editing window)...you will also lose the original menu if doing it this way...or if you really want to spend a lot of time check out this post:

Just thought of another way -- rename all your title sets from Shrink to VTS_1_00x and use VOBEdit to make all into one title set -- this will definitly work... -
Sounds like you want to edit the audio which can be done.
I would extract the video and audio streams using a product like dvddecrypter. Once you have the audio (AC3), load it with goldwave. (You will need a AC3 filter installe on your PC. Any DVD software player will do this for you.)
Play the audio and mark sections that should be silent. Go back overwrite those sections. Save down and encode back into AC3 using tmpgencs excellent AC3 encoder.
Take the elementary streams and import into DVD author or dvd-lab.
Then reauthor your movie for a more friendly version.-----------------------------------------------------

Why not just wait till your grandchildren are a bit older?
Most of the time, when you start editing things out of a movie, the point gets lost anyway...
Why take all that time...
Unless your grandchildren are over 13...
Then you have overprotection issues... -
Why don't you try a rental club that already does it for you... http://www.cleanfilms.com/
I've seen a couple of their newer ones and they do an excellent job. -
There is an even better service than that out there. www.biblethumpersdvdclub.com
