  1. Another newbie-ish question...!

    Can anyone tell me what program they use to join two mpeg files together? I've been using EO Video but with no joy. Whenever I think the files have been joined, I play them back and it only seems to play the second half!!

    Thanks in advance

    I think you can accomplish this with TMPGEnc. In order to do this tho, you MUST have the TMPGEnc MPEG2 plugin.

    File -> MPEG-Tools -> Merge & Cut
    Select Video-CD or Super Video CD
    Add the mpg (or ALL the mpgs)
    Select Output and OK

    I think this is fairly well documented in the Edit/Join/Split section of the Guides.

    Instead of how, ask why? If your Authoring DVD's your don't need to merge the files. Same goes for converting to AVI (as long as you don't change the settings). Even applies to VCD/SVCD burning in Nero.

  4. To Saladonyourlincoln - what if I'm making a DVD and not Super Video CD or VCD, will the same apply?

    Why don't I need to merge the files Gazonrgan for my DVD?

    Thanks

    Generally speaking, no. Just author them. A dvd is just a compilation of video clips (menu's, intro's, commercials, disclaimers) plus the main movie. Some Authoring apps may hesitate at the transition, try it and see.
