  2. Try DVD MovieFactory or if you want even more advanced features try DVD Workshop, both which can be downloaded from www.ulead.com as a 30 day trial

Or you could also try Nero VisionExpress, which has less features.

  3. DVD-Lab - at a reasonable price

Scenarist/Maestro - if you have a lot of money to spend

    Additional question..

Are you able to make DVD Menu's with one program and then user another like TMPEG's DVDAuthor to create/burn your DVD?

    Thanks

I like using photoshop to make my menus.

I like using After Effects with the Trapcode 3D stroke and shine plugins, along with Eye Candy for AE to make my motion menus.

  7. I use DVD-Lab in conjunction with DVD Menu Studio...both by Mediachance.

  8. With DVD-Lab you wouldn't need to use anything else, like TMPGEN DVD Author.

Does anyone mind posting some examples of menus they made? Or now of a place to get some good templates/ideas. I'm lacking in the creative area and would love to see what some people have done.

    Here's some menu making ideas

    3D model (Maya $1,999)
Photo Edit (Paint Shop Pro $99)
    Composting (Vegas $559 )
Sound Mixing (Acid $399 or Vegas)
    Mpeg encoder (Canopus $499)

Create your animations in Maya, export to avi. Create your stills, text, and overlays with Paint Shop Pro, export to tiff. Compose your music in Acid, export as stereo or 6 mono wavs. Load the avi and tiff into Vegas as seperate tracks, and adjust the track effects. Either compose music in Vegas, or import the Acid Loop. Frame serve to Canopus ProCoder with the plugin Pac.

Once Boris becomes available for Vegas, you could prob. skip the Maya step.

    Done on the cheap -

    anim8or - free
    Microsoft Paint - free
    Zei-Stein - free
    Audacity - free
    bbMpeg - free

More work, almost the same results, heck of alot cheaper.

I'm taking that you want to make menus, not know what authoring software has built in menu making.

for menu ideas/materials that are not just screen shots I:

1/ go to the movie website if one exists and look for ideas, wallpapers or posters.

2/ simply put say "star wars wallpaper" or "star wars posters" or "star wars sounds" (for the menus) or "star wars art" into Google (your movie of course). You could even try words that are in the movie.. like knife or moon or a car make that is in the movie and get images that way. You can use most of NASA stuff with no problems.

a lot of stuff is free. I'd be careful if you were doing it for a commercial production though.
