  1. Why is I-Author so difficult to find? And why does VCDHelp not have a place to point to for it? Is it illegal to be hosting it now or something? If not, what if *I* hosted it? What's so good about it? Why do people speak highly about it, but it's hard to find? Is it not freeware? Where can I get it? What can I-Author do?

It seems that there are many things on this site that talk about SVCD having the ability to do multiple audio tracks as well as multiple, non-embedded subtitles, but yet no one really touches on taking advantage of it as well as explaining a really good method of doing it. Is it REALLY THAT DIFFICULT? And another question: If you make use of selecting a different audio track as well as the use of seleting subtitles, would that shorten the length of SVCD video you can put on the CD? If so, by how big a margin?
    An example would be nice.

    Thank you in advance.
I hope my bombardment of questions isn't TOO annoying.
I just like to get them out of the way and have them answered in one shot. I find it nicer that way, don't you?

    No, I-Author isn't freeware.
If you create a SVCD with several audio tracks/ subtitles, of course the filesize get larger. FitCD helps to calculate the bitrates.

  3. I-Author is not freeware. Hosting it would be hosting WAREZ and this site does not do this.

There are multiple guides showing how to use the I-Author muxer for the multi-soundtrack and OGT (as Truman has posted).

Any of the bitrate calculators will help you determine how much space you loose. Subtitles won't greatly reduce capacity, but another audio track potentially could.
