  1. Hi,

I have a weird problem here. I try to encode AVI files to MPEG2 or MPEG2 with CCE and the results are corrupted : the MPEG sequence is kind of green, and you can identify object and people edges moving in this greenish mess.
    (I'm using 2 passes VBR).

ALso, I can't get any sound to be encoded, there is no mpeg audio file in the end, although I selected the correct parameters.

Funny thing is that when I use DVD2SVCD to produce MPEG2 (I guess it is frameserving CCE), everything works great.
Is there a known bug in CCE about dealing with huge AVI files ? (I forgot to mention that my AVI files use "HuffYUV" codec).

Can somone help on this ? I have a bunch of family videos I really would like to transfer to VCD/SVCD.

    THanks a lot

Have you tried to frameserve with Virtualdub or avisynth?

I have exactly the same problem. I have AVI files compressed with HuffYUV. All are less than 2 GB, all were recorded using an ATI Radeon AIW card from an S-Video source (equivalent to satellite). The files have been edited in VirtualDub for trimming purposes. The computer is a Dell 8100 1.5 GHz P4. When trying to use any version of CCE, the result is that the video looks like coloured confetti. Also, no audio track is produced at all. Is the problem the HuffYUV codec? I haven't tried frameserving because I don't know how to do that for CCE. The same files encode OK with TMPGenc but I wanted to try CCE since everyone says CCE is better for MPEG-2.

  4. try this
    frameserve with Avisynth

    avisource("C:\windows\desktop\New folder\test.avi&quot
    bob
Assumefps (29.976) #lowest cce will allow
    AssumeFieldBased
    ConvertToYUY2
    temporalsmoother(2,1)
    biLinearResize(480,480)
    ResampleAudio(44100)
    encode your audio with TMPGEnc
    mux with bbmpeg

  5. Thanks guys for the advice. I haven't tried frameserving to CCE yet, so I just printed mmega5's guide for CCE to learn more about it.
I'll give it a try on Sunday and I'll let you know if it works better.

    THAnks again.
