I found that capturing with ASUS digital VCR directly to MPEG2 for DVD
for burning gave the best picture quality. I am using an ASUS v8420
video card, the results are really quite perfect. I am capturing from VHS by composite connection. I usually them use tmpgenc to convert to 16:9
then author & burn using TMPGENC DVD author. Sometimes I use DVD
shrink to make it fit. I have used Virtualdub & iuvcr. The results were not good. My real question is: Can I capture to 16:9 without running the video though TMPGENC?
