I'm using Dazzle HW Bridge to convert movies from (S-)VHS to SVCD (via DV and Ulead MS). During capturing some single frames go bad (due to tape dropouts or something like this). It's very cumbersome to find such bad frames, but they are clearly visible, when played back (like a flash). I'd like a program, which can locate such bad frames in order to write down the exact location for later cutting. Does anyone know such program or how to use any of the common editors to get this task done?

  2. In VirtualDub, you can go to where the frame is and simply hit the "Delete" key on your keyboard and it will delete the single frame.
You can then frame serve to an MPEG encoding program.

The problem is not the deleting, but the locating of the defective frame!

You can search frame by frame using VDub.

OK, last try : I need an automatic locator for bad frames (I'm using ULEAD MediaStudio for Editing). It takes an average of half an hour to find bad single frames in an 1 hour movie. I don't watch the movie all over again just to find bad frames.

Depends if the frames are "Bad" or "Bad"

Try "vdub-mp3-freeze.exe" this saves a list of bad frames, then you can remove them.. But a drop out is not a curupt frame, just a bad recording, so might not be detected.
