  1. I'm having the following problem: i've joind some subtitles to divx (with virtual sub) and when I tried to encode to vcd (mpeg1) and spit with TempEnc no problem, but when i tried to record with Nero 6.0, the format (mpeg1) does not play's on the domestic DVD. Is there any possibility to split the file not using the TempEnc but the Virtual Dub or any other program? P.S. When I burn splited files with Nero and convert them in VCD that works.
    Thanks

Avoid splitting mpg - it's almost always a nasty mess. Encode in 2 passes, setting the range to encode in VirtulaDub and then frameserve to TMPGEnc, or (if encoding directly from the AVI) using the Source Range in TMPGEnc.
Don't use Nero to author - use VCDEasy.

read the guides under AVI to VCD - there are plenty.
    In short:
Load your AVI and subs (using the subtitler filter) in VirtualDub. After the subtitler filter, add the resize filter and Lanzcos resize to VCD resolution.
Click the "set start marker" button. Drag the slider half way, click "set end marker". Make a note of end frame number.
Start frame server and encode with TMPGEnc as VCD (If unsure on this step, there's a good guide on frame serving with VirtualDub)
When finished first encode, without moving the slider, click "set start marker". Then move slider to the end of the movie (far right) and click the "set end marker" button.
Repeat the frame serve & encode part.
