  1. Have this router, you see, and I need to configure all incoming IP requests to be transferred to a computer connected to it. It is a Linksys BEFSX41.

This the type of menu setting I have to work with:

I've asked around and nothing has worked, and google isn't showing any guides on this.

I need to know if anyone here has successfully accomplished this with their Linksys router, and what setting I myself need to activate for this.

Why exactly do they have to be transfered? Put 2 nics in the server, let the router plug into one and pull next access then it runs as a gateway either via built in software OR 3rd party depending on what OS your using.

  3. Yes I run my webserver behind my Linksys. The main thing you need to do is get rid of the dynamic IP's for you lan. Go to static IP's and then use the port forwarding function in your router to send port 80 (or what ever port you want to use) to the correct computer.
If your internet service is Dynamic Ip then you will need to use a service like DNS2GO from www.deerfield.com to forward to your system.

I hope this gets you going in the right direction.

a side note - my ISP assigns Dynamic IP for me, but it has not changed for about 7 months now...

If you are setting this up at home, you better check your agrrement with your ISP. Most do not allow you to have a server for home accounts. To be allowed to run a server you have to get their commercial account.

So if it is a home service, and they don't allow such things, then be prepared for if/when the find it, and they terminate your service.
Hope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they?

I know about no-ip, but my problem is that when I put my IP into the address bar it doesn't goto the server-computer, so no-ip is getting ahead of myself.

I don't understand. Are you running on port 80? Many ISPs block taht port. Also, there is a workaround within no-IP so that ppl dont have to type in the port #.

Did you find it? I found it on the No-IP site itself.

Is your server up and running?
